April 2016 It was April 2016 and Dennise Ettinger took her twin grandsons (who both have cerebral palsy) to a city park to play. Blake and Trey have mobility challenges: Blake uses crutches, walker and scooter (depending on distance) and Trey uses a wheelchair. After parking they had to maneuver through a ditch and over a large grassy in order to get to the swings. Once there they determined Trey couldn’t swing because the harness was broken. He had to sit and watch. They carried Blake over the wood chips to the swing where it took 3 people to get him into the swing. As he began to swing he started shouting, “I am free. I feel so free. I haven’t been in a swing since I was a little kid.” This statement pulled at his grandma’s heartstrings. It became obvious at that moment that the twins had missed out on a lot of “childhood” experiences. This was the beginning of the story.
